These emerging platforms integrate continuous trust verification, real-time privilege minimization, and behavior analytics tuned for agentic patterns rather than human ones. They treat the AI agent as a first-class identity citizen, complete with its own lifecycle management, credential rotation, and access decay.
The transition from human-centric IAM to agentic identity governance is not a feature enhancement—it’s a fundamental architectural shift. Organizations that delay this reckoning will find themselves either crippled by IAM constraints or dangerously overprovisioned with access rights. The IAM stack of 2026 must be rebuilt from the ground up to accommodate the machine identities it now serves.
